In China, we have our own tea brand called "Xiuxi," a name inspired by a cultural moment in the 4th century during the Eastern Jin Dynasty. The name comes from the famous Lanting Gathering (Orchid Pavilion Gathering) organized by Wang Xizhi, who is revered as the "Sage of Calligraphy." This gathering, held in the picturesque Shanyin region, not only birthed the "Lantingji Xu" (Preface to the Poems Composed at the Orchid Pavilion), which became known as the "Greatest Masterpiece of Chinese Calligraphy," but more importantly, it established calligraphy as a foundational form of art in Chinese culture.

China is the birthplace of tea, with a rich history of tea drinking spanning over 2,000 years. More than half of China’s provinces produce tea, offering an astonishing variety of over 500 different types. These teas are primarily classified into six main categories based on their processing methods, particularly the level of oxidation: Green Tea, Black Tea (known as "Red Tea" in China), Oolong Tea, White Tea, Yellow Tea, and Dark Tea (such as Pu-erh). Each tea is often named after its specific region of origin—whether it’s a mountain, village, town, city, or lake—like West Lake Longjing, Huangshan Maofeng, Fuding White Tea, or Lapsang Souchong.
